The Faculty trains electrical engineers for “Operation of vessels’ electrical and automation equipment” in the following specializations: “Operation of electrical and automation equipment of nuclear powered vessels”, “operation of measuring and control complexes of nuclear powered vessels”. Future electrical engineers study theoretical fundamentals of electrical technology, automation, electronics, computer engineering, electrical machines, theory of ship’s electronic drive, ship’s electric power systems, electrical propulsion plants and peculiarities of their operation. The level of theoretical and practical training enables the graduates of the faculty to receive a Certificate of Competency of Marine Electrical Engineer. The syllabus of the faculty is certified by the Institute of Marine Engineers, Science and Technology. The graduates of the Faculty are employed on board the vessels of national and international shipping companies. Duration of the course of education and training - five years and a half.
