Marine engineering faculty trains marine engineers in the speciality “Vessels power plants operation” with two specializations: “Power plants operation” and “Nuclear power plants operation”. The curriculum includes theoretical and practical training: technological and wiring training at the Academy’s workshops, shipboard practice (total duration is minimum 8 months).         All graduates of the Faculty receive the diploma of an engineer as well as the Certificate of Competency as an Engineer Officer of a Watch which has an international status enabling a graduate to work on board the vessels of leading national and international shipping companies. Those trained in the speciality “Nuclear power plants operation” can work not only on board the vessels with nuclear power plants, but also on board other transport ships with diesel power plants.       Higher education and practical training enable the graduates, without any additional training to hold positions of a watch engineer, second and chief engineer of a large-capacity vessel, a position of technical superintendent of a shipping company.         The graduates of the Faculty are employed on board the vessels of national and international shipping companies. Duration of the course of education and training - five years and a half.
