The Faculty has more than 50-year experience of training radio engineering specialists of broad profile and is the basic one in the maritime industry. The Radio Engineering Faculty trains radio engineers in the speciality “Technical operation of Transport Radio Equipment”. The faculty also offers narrower specialization such as: “Radio communication and electro-radio navigation in the merchant marine” and “International information and communication transport systems”. The cadets undergo practical training on the vessels of the shipping companies, on board the STS “MIR”, in computer centers, at shore-based facilities. Educational process includes modern teaching methods with the use of simulators and computer equipment. Graduates of the Faculty receive a national diploma of higher education. Along with the diploma of a radio-engineer the graduates also receive an internationally recognized Certificate of Competence of a Radio-electronic officer. Duration of the course of education and training - five years and a half.
