In order to determine if the entrants are fit for the on board service, all entrants should undergo mandatory medical check up at the Academy prior to the beginning of the entrance examinations. After enrolment the cadets should take a drug test (this is a chargeable service). Persons unfit for the on board service due to health reasons according to the results of the medical check up are not allowed to take examinations and will have their documents returned. The Academy entrants should meet the following medical requirements: Those entering the navigational faculty: acuity of vision should be 1,0 for all other faculties not less than 0,8 in each eye, normal color sense, no heterotropia or chronic eye malfunctions. No chronic, therapeutic or surgical counter indications (i.e. heart diseases, lung diseases, gastrointestinal disturbance, etc.).
